Superfrog is a 2D platformer released in 1993 for the Amiga. An evil, jealous witch kidnapped the princess and cast a spell on the prince, transforming him into a frog. After drinking an energy drink, he transforms into a hero, now with enough superpowers to attempt to rescue his beloved.

Airwolf (Nintendo)


Airwolf is a horizontal scrolling shoot ‘em up game released in 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The villain Pig Bad has kidnapped the brother of experienced pilot S. Hawk and is now blackmailing the military with the threat of detonating nuclear missiles. Your mission is to board the supersonic helicopter to prevent the catastrophe and rescue the hostage.

Spriggan Powered (Super Nintendo)


Spriggan Powered is a 2D side-scrolling shoot ‘em up game released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo. What sets it apart is its use of pre-rendered graphics, similar to those used in Donkey Kong Country. Because it was released late in the console’s lifecycle, it was able to take full advantage of the Super Nintendo’s technical capabilities. It was the third game in the Spriggan franchise trilogy, though it has no connection to the previous titles.

The princess of Slumberland appears to young Nemo asking for help to save her father, who has been kidnapped by the evil Nightmare King. You take control of the Dream Master and must restore peace!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan (Game Boy)


Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan is a 2D platformer released in 1990 for the Game Boy. The mission follows the classic storyline we know from the animated series: April O’Neil has been kidnapped by Shredder and Krang, while their henchmen try to prevent her rescue. You can choose one of the four heroes and travel through New York City until you reach the challenging Technodrome tower, where you’ll finally face the bosses and save the reporter.

Wacky Races (Nintendo)


Wacky Races is a 2D platformer game released in 1991 for Nintendo. Although it’s based on the classic cartoon series, oddly enough there are no actual racing stages. Muttley gets tired of being put in perilous situations during races with Dick Dastardly, so he decides to take charge this time to help his bumbling but loyal companion finally become the winner of the race.
